Why no expense tracking?
Logging every purchase is a lot to keep up. Your balances already hold the result, so Stashsum records those and shows how they changed. The trade: it cannot tell you where the money went.
Where is my data?
On your device, in the app’s own storage. Nothing is sent anywhere unless you turn on sync, and then only encrypted, so we cannot read it. Install it to the home screen so the browser is less likely to clear it, and export a backup file now and then.
What if I lose my phone?
With sync on, open Stashsum on a new device and enter your recovery code. Without sync, only a backup file can bring the data back, so export one now and then. If you lose the recovery code and every device, synced data cannot be recovered.
Is there an iPhone or Android app?
Not yet. Stashsum works in the browser on any phone, tablet or computer, and installs to the home screen like an app. Native apps are planned, with no date to share.
Can I import from a spreadsheet?
No. Stashsum restores only its own backup files, and the Excel export is one-way, for viewing. Type in your latest balances and carry on from there.
What about a refund?
Ask within 14 days of buying Pro on the web and you get the full amount back, no questions asked. Your data stays on your devices, readable and exportable. After 14 days we may still refund, at our discretion.
Will it remind me to update?
No. There are no notifications or reminders, on purpose. Open it when you want to write something down.
